<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JccNTGC_Oug/UnwOLsEovLI/AAAAAAAABkg/FgVYzBvqlt4/s1600/34-Thorin-3D-Poster.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JccNTGC_Oug/UnwOLsEovLI/AAAAAAAABkg/FgVYzBvqlt4/s320/34-Thorin-3D-Poster.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Richard Armitage as Thorin</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And this is how he usually looks:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4wfLlwvxIhA/UnwOnyci6II/AAAAAAAABko/FYT7Ma9idpY/s1600/tvsatcoverbyheathrasmoulderoct0811ranet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4wfLlwvxIhA/UnwOnyci6II/AAAAAAAABko/FYT7Ma9idpY/s320/tvsatcoverbyheathrasmoulderoct0811ranet.jpg" width="232" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Where I fell in love with him: in North and South</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
as Mr. Thornton</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
And just yesterday I finally watched <i>Mortal Instruments</i>. It was amazing! I loved every second of it, there was suspense and drama and action and love (oh, love!) and a terrible twist in the end that completely shocked me , but then turned out to be alright. It was no surprise to know that the male lead playing sexy, badboy angel Jace, also played the young dark wizard Grindelwald in the Harry Potter movies. But I was no less delighted!</div>

This gorgeous boy is one to look out for! He was in also in Sweeney Todd, played King Arthur in tv series Camelot and played vampire Caius in Twilight. I see a bright carreer ahead of him, and I'm looking forwards to his future work!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTUDU8m9GlM/UbjCrTK0qpI/AAAAAAAABgU/0rxf8D6qasY/s1600/emmabeck11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTUDU8m9GlM/UbjCrTK0qpI/AAAAAAAABgU/0rxf8D6qasY/s320/emmabeck11.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Emma tv movie from 1996 with Kate Beckinsale</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-psrO5GuCBAs/UbjDzZRcmFI/AAAAAAAABgg/LLpPAPfJUjQ/s1600/emma+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-psrO5GuCBAs/UbjDzZRcmFI/AAAAAAAABgg/LLpPAPfJUjQ/s1600/emma+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Emma (also from) 1996 with Gwyneth Paltrow</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gF3-6cjyOmQ/UbjFjKzu0jI/AAAAAAAABgw/DCXvHWykqXU/s1600/emma3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gF3-6cjyOmQ/UbjFjKzu0jI/AAAAAAAABgw/DCXvHWykqXU/s1600/emma3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Emma (2009) miniseries with Romola Garai</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, to be be short and sweet (the way I am ;D) I thought the 2009 Emma mini series with Romola Garai was clearly the best. First of all it's in 4 parts, each episode an hour long, so we get the chance to explore the complicated relationships and personality traits of every character, <b>this</b> is what it's all about for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really just thought the tv/movie versions from 1996 were too shortened, it didn't capture the essence of Emma, wich the 2009 series succeeded with. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>The Emmas:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ms0SjeqrH5E/Uf_01dD9v6I/AAAAAAAABiY/IvWQ4v3oLl0/s1600/2394207,dDmodoLhh++mqvU_anYy8u9BMpzaS2_SN5+nRVDzodtQKXpUImk5zedcpGARclisRsOgZPo21DBk1HOxAsM8iA==.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ms0SjeqrH5E/Uf_01dD9v6I/AAAAAAAABiY/IvWQ4v3oLl0/s320/2394207,dDmodoLhh++mqvU_anYy8u9BMpzaS2_SN5+nRVDzodtQKXpUImk5zedcpGARclisRsOgZPo21DBk1HOxAsM8iA==.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Kate Beckinsale was just a sourpuss. She didn't convey the lightness and charm that Jane Austens beloved character has. And it is Emmas charm that makes us like her, otherwise she would just be a snob and not likeable at all. I expected more from Kate who is actually one of my favorite actresses normally. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AtV5wQAHGrE/Uf_16ELplMI/AAAAAAAABik/7hffmKSly68/s1600/Emma-Gwyneth-Paltrow-gwyneth-paltrow-16178828-540-768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AtV5wQAHGrE/Uf_16ELplMI/AAAAAAAABik/7hffmKSly68/s320/Emma-Gwyneth-Paltrow-gwyneth-paltrow-16178828-540-768.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gwyneth Paltrow was a better Emma than Kate. BUT it wasn't quite enough. I don't know wether to blame the time constraint of only 1h50min, thereby shortening the whole story to the extreme, or to blame Gwyneth? In all fairness, she was a perfectly good Emma, but having seen the 2009 version first, I can't be other than critical. Quite a bit more charm than Kate, but not quite enough for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b0JNpzlWerk/Uf_3_tSAaBI/AAAAAAAABi0/al7xzEz3JmU/s1600/Romola_Emma.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-b0JNpzlWerk/Uf_3_tSAaBI/AAAAAAAABi0/al7xzEz3JmU/s320/Romola_Emma.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Romola Garai IS Emma! She was absolutely brilliant! She completely conveyed the charm, the actual innocence and youthful vanity of Emma, and also this sence of superiority, without it being obnoxious in any way. Her complete ability to just banter with Mr Knightly (Jonny Lee Miller) while doing her daily chores was so perfect and even though she is quite a shallow character in the beginning, one never really dislikes her. <b>With Romola, we get it, we get Emma and we get Emma right. </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But what about the men? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well, this is always a hard question, Mr Knightley is a very important character. He is Emmas friend, her confidante, he teases her and tells her off when he thinks she's behaved badly. He makes her see her own weaknesses, but he never thinks of them as weaknesses himself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hcfo2WM1wT8/Uf_6nSL7AGI/AAAAAAAABjE/xPKjPQTfM3k/s1600/emma-bbc-1996+Kate+and+Mark+Strong.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hcfo2WM1wT8/Uf_6nSL7AGI/AAAAAAAABjE/xPKjPQTfM3k/s320/emma-bbc-1996+Kate+and+Mark+Strong.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mark Strong is a good actor. That being said, I don't think he physically looks the part. He looks a little too old for her and he didn't have any chemistry at all with Kate. It was just a bad match I guess.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mEO6NxvQAfc/Uf_7HeYJcYI/AAAAAAAABjM/OXb106fpEZ0/s1600/jeremy+northam+gwyneth.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mEO6NxvQAfc/Uf_7HeYJcYI/AAAAAAAABjM/OXb106fpEZ0/s320/jeremy+northam+gwyneth.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Jeremy Northam looks a little more like I pictured Mr Knightey. But I'm missing the passionate arguments between him and Gwyneth (Emma). He was okay, but not ultimate. Needless to say this is the sweetest looking couple of all the Emma adaptation, they totally look like a couple. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L2Srswk6icI/Uf_77mNH3vI/AAAAAAAABjY/E8s_-DD0plk/s1600/Romola+and+Jonny_Emma.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="178" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L2Srswk6icI/Uf_77mNH3vI/AAAAAAAABjY/E8s_-DD0plk/s320/Romola+and+Jonny_Emma.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Jonny Lee Miller was amazing. Granted, he wasn't exactly how I imagined Mr Knightey, a bit short compared to Emma (Romola) and a little too "bright" and cheerful. I imagine Mr Knightley when I read the book as a much darker man, and not nearly so sheepish. BUT, with his ability to scold his counterpart like there's no tomorrow he wins you over in the end. I suspect that the warmth he added to the character also makes one more likey to like him and see him as someone you <b>would </b>want to cozy up to one day for the rest of your life... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But if I got to choose. If I would cast anyone as Mr Knightley, I most definitely would cast:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Richard Armitage</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V3JA975i2vI/Uf_978Cz_uI/AAAAAAAABjo/R8nyIgievBA/s1600/John_Thornton_3_lj.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V3JA975i2vI/Uf_978Cz_uI/AAAAAAAABjo/R8nyIgievBA/s320/John_Thornton_3_lj.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>(played Mr Thornton on North and South, absolutely gorgeous)</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pV7Ojxi8NAs/Uf_9-4pOnQI/AAAAAAAABjw/P1oUYBC7ZUk/s1600/north-south-208.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="184" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pV7Ojxi8NAs/Uf_9-4pOnQI/AAAAAAAABjw/P1oUYBC7ZUk/s320/north-south-208.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LJCI080VnbM/Ufw9WfnOJPI/AAAAAAAABhM/ps95ajBbQDI/s1600/american-pie-reunion-review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="223" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LJCI080VnbM/Ufw9WfnOJPI/AAAAAAAABhM/ps95ajBbQDI/s320/american-pie-reunion-review.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To not spoil anything I thought the movie was okay, but it's not exactly my type of humor anymore. And it definitely seems the boys haven't learned <b>anything </b>since high-school. That being said, there are some typical "embarrassing-suspense" moments and a few real laugh out loud moments as well.<br />
In some strange way, I can kind of relate to it. I was in high school (or younger?) when the first American Pie came out of the oven so to speak. (Yes, I have <b>dry</b> humor now! Guess I'm growing up?) And now it's some ten years later and things are changing, but a part of me can still remember what it was like to be a teenager, and the times my friends and I shared. In a way, we're all the same, only we share other times now.<br />
<br />
Vik plays Stiflers boss and gives him a hard time at work, because he was (supposedly) a nerd in the past and now he has the chance for payback on a former cool kid. He has this skanky, way too tall blonde chick hanging around him. I think we could've done without her.<br />
(Lol, that's just me being jealous, but seriously, I'd rather see him with someone classier, but I guess that wouldn't fit the movie. I'm thinking too much about Vik and not enough about the character, haha).<br />
<br />
Second movie I watched was <b>Long Pigs</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oBWWtMTXLHY/Ufw_1ScXQdI/AAAAAAAABhc/bFOzmZvqLtE/s1600/220px-Long_pigs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oBWWtMTXLHY/Ufw_1ScXQdI/AAAAAAAABhc/bFOzmZvqLtE/s320/220px-Long_pigs.jpg" width="210" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It's this Canadian movie from 2007, filmed documentary-style. It's about two guys making a documentary about a cannibal. So they follow this cannibal around, filming him stalking his prey, killing, butchering, cooking and eating other human beings. And they film his social life, his friends and family, trying to figure him out.<br />
<br />
Vik plays the cannibal's mother's doctor, who is hospitalized. He really just appears in two scenes, but it's magic every time I see him. The movie itself is really disturbing, I was kind of waiting for the end to "happen" because I saw it coming, so it was suspenseful in the end. But it was a good movie, the documentary-style filming just makes it feel that much better, because it becomes real and I felt seriously queezy at times. And I've watched gory japanese movies without feeling anything, but this really got to me.<br />
So, if you're into that, go for it!<br />
<br />
Here's an interesting factoid:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OPTmYkWR_Vc/UfxCsxP31CI/AAAAAAAABhs/k0u_DS59jiI/s1600/long+pigs+culinary.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="20" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OPTmYkWR_Vc/UfxCsxP31CI/AAAAAAAABhs/k0u_DS59jiI/s400/long+pigs+culinary.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Vik-pic time:<br />
I just had to share this one because I think his eyes just come out so beautifully here:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3u9ta1hb85o/UfxFTkNdfsI/AAAAAAAABiI/nxgg4GAzFt0/s1600/vik_honey_eyes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3u9ta1hb85o/UfxFTkNdfsI/AAAAAAAABiI/nxgg4GAzFt0/s400/vik_honey_eyes.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(and to think this is how he looks <i>before </i>makeup!)</div>

(When my fixation for my current broadband is up I'm definately switching companies)<br />
<br />
On my classical read-list I'm on <b>Emma </b>(by Jane Austen) right now and I'm a little more than half way through it. Since I am impossible when it comes to waiting and information, I of course had to find out wich of the movie adaptations is the best. It doesn't seem to have a clear answer (like with Jane Eyre it was clearly the 2006 BBC version most people seemed to prefer) sooooo; I'm going to watch the three most debated:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Emma tv movie from 1996 starring Kate Beckinsale</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTUDU8m9GlM/UbjCrTK0qpI/AAAAAAAABgQ/VaCcJgR5kgk/s1600/emmabeck11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iTUDU8m9GlM/UbjCrTK0qpI/AAAAAAAABgQ/VaCcJgR5kgk/s320/emmabeck11.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What most people who have seen this adaptation seem to have a problem with is Kate Beckinsale as Emma and the ending. But I generally like Kate Beckinsale, so I am not discouraged, and I guess we'll see about the ending.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Emma movie from 1996 starring Gwyneth Paltrow</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-psrO5GuCBAs/UbjDzZRcmFI/AAAAAAAABgc/Tsd92hAJdeM/s1600/emma+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-psrO5GuCBAs/UbjDzZRcmFI/AAAAAAAABgc/Tsd92hAJdeM/s1600/emma+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With this adaptation what people seem to be having trouble with is that it's too sweet and light. But from what I've read so far, the book does has a lightness to it, so it should be fine. And the actor playing Mr Knightly didn't seem to be a big favorite. But, we'll see, maybe I'll like him? (Btw, just judging from the cover photo, that is precisely how I imagine Emma)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Emma mini series from 2009 starring Romola Garai</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gF3-6cjyOmQ/UbjFjKzu0jI/AAAAAAAABgs/LxTfmsVI14I/s1600/emma3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gF3-6cjyOmQ/UbjFjKzu0jI/AAAAAAAABgs/LxTfmsVI14I/s1600/emma3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
About this one I can't seem to find one common ground on why it's the best or the worst or why ppl liked it or disliked it, but I think it looses to the others chiefly because it's the newest, and that seems to be the case with most adaptions, people always like the older ones better. But, I shall enjoy this one and be as un-biased as I can. Romola btw looks exeedingly beautiful, she has a warmth that I could definately see in Emma that Gwyneth doesn't have. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And finally I might even break out this one:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nJzBN9xfZI0/UbjIl3ey3VI/AAAAAAAABg8/XDMk0ez8dKg/s1600/FU-Clueless.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nJzBN9xfZI0/UbjIl3ey3VI/AAAAAAAABg8/XDMk0ez8dKg/s320/FU-Clueless.jpg" width="221" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone, wich is, as most people know, a parody/modern re-telling of the original book Emma by Jane Austen. I haven't seen this movie in such a long time, but it is <b>ALWAYS</b> hillarious and I think Alicia Silverstone makes a sweet, (but not as bright) Emma, or Cher as her character is called in Clueless. The only thing I couldn't fathom though is Paul Rudd as Mr Knightly, although, it IS a re-telling so he's not exactly Mr Knightly either. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ssa2CWq3FCE/UZ1kMuksmZI/AAAAAAAABeM/UGnVoMA9V7Q/s1600/6498197d07e0fd41c68c75f3982c1d41.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ssa2CWq3FCE/UZ1kMuksmZI/AAAAAAAABeM/UGnVoMA9V7Q/s320/6498197d07e0fd41c68c75f3982c1d41.jpg" width="221" /></a></div>
The story is about a guy, Jordan who gets dumped by his girlfriend because he's bad in bed. He then gets drunk makes an arrangement with a stripper at the club who was kind enough to let him sleep on her couch (Julia). He will help her with her financial issues (since he's an accountant) and she will be his "sex Yoda" lol<br />
She will teach him to become better at sex in order to get his girlfriend back.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Among other things, he crossdresses:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vLKxFeYO1PY/UZ1mEo-09rI/AAAAAAAABec/QL6V7eOqm-E/s1600/Jonas+DRAGPARADE2+Ryan+Wuchert+620.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vLKxFeYO1PY/UZ1mEo-09rI/AAAAAAAABec/QL6V7eOqm-E/s320/Jonas+DRAGPARADE2+Ryan+Wuchert+620.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
get's an erotic massage with a "happy ending"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(although I wouldn't say it was so happy for the girl who got her nose all bloody) :P</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VacMVNOAZ1M/UZ1mY4xHvFI/AAAAAAAABek/Ay8xZfP8-Fw/s1600/my-awkward-sexual-adventure.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VacMVNOAZ1M/UZ1mY4xHvFI/AAAAAAAABek/Ay8xZfP8-Fw/s320/my-awkward-sexual-adventure.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
he goes down on a melon:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tiv_RzD_Qbs/UZ1mnqtEAsI/AAAAAAAABes/dsE4xf-hins/s1600/awkwardsexual_large.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tiv_RzD_Qbs/UZ1mnqtEAsI/AAAAAAAABes/dsE4xf-hins/s320/awkwardsexual_large.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
and explores S&M:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Vik Sahay plays his best male friend who is kind of a self-proclaimed sex-guru.<br />
He's sexually confident, social and dresses really well. A far cry from the way we're used to seeing him on series Chuck, as Lester. And I like it. I really love it when he says "I'm a slut" LOL<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w6l3BKFzE-E/UZ1oDUM6AsI/AAAAAAAABfE/vW-dSYzEmdQ/s1600/Vik-Sahay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w6l3BKFzE-E/UZ1oDUM6AsI/AAAAAAAABfE/vW-dSYzEmdQ/s320/Vik-Sahay.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
But he isn't much help to Jordan, because he has his own problems. He's dating a girl, while pretending to be all virtuous and looking for a soulmate. Kind of the opposite of what is his nature.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love this movie because it really <i>is</i> an awkward sexual adventure Jordan goes through. The movie is done with incredible heart, talent and dedication. It is the funniest movie I've seen in <i>years</i>! I'll be showing this one to all my friends for sure!</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Julia)</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Vik Sahay special: I thought he was absolutely gorgeous in this movie, I love his hair, and his skin is like milk chocolate and his eyes are always those dark, big, seductive orbs and he's very well dressed. As for his performance, he rocked it as usual. He balanced his inherent energy just enough to become cool and even sweet at times. <3 I really loved him in this movie! </div>

It's starts off with photographer Charles Castle and his new bride in some wintery destination for their honeymoon. When they are out there on the ice, it breaks and his wife falls into a cavern.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Devastated by his wife's death he returns to London and resumes his photography, but tells his clients "no weddings." </div>

One day he is contacted by a woman who says that while she was photographing her two daughters that she captured something strange on film. She says that her girls keep talking about fairies and if you look closely you can see the outline of them in the photos. He sees the girls eat a special kind of flower they must have picked near the tree where they have seen the fairies and becomes intreagued. <br /></div>
To not spoil the movie for anyone, I'll leave it at that. It's a fairly (no pun intended) psychedelic movie. It's kind of sad and beautiful, but with kind of an unsatisfying ending, I must say. But the ending totally makes sense though. It's just unsatisfying for me because it was kind of sad, hope I didn't spoil too much, haha.<br />

Toby Stephens was kind of young and gorgeous in this movie, as you can see. He's always brilliant, but the movie didn't suit my taste. Ben Kingsley was awesome in it, he is always great, but here he was also kind of young and fit, which is a first for me.<br />
Well, in conclusion: Good movie, but not great with great actors though. Kind of sad and psychedelic.<br />
<br />
Two out of five stars<br />

And that's why I set out to watch all his movies and tv-shows. And when it's with a brilliant actor, it doesn't matter what you're watching, because you know that whatever he chooses will be excellent, or at least <b><i>he </i></b>will be excellent.<br />
<br />
That's why I have made myself another commitment to my new obsession, <b>Vik Sahay</b>. I will watch all the things he's been in, or at least try to find as many movies as I can. Because I think he is a brilliant actor.<br />
<br />
I am currently enjoying watching him on Chuck season 1.<br />

(I mean his pictures, you pervs!) :P<br />
<br />
Anyhow, he's my new hottie obsession, so I just had to play with him a little.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NdCJltOhbHI/UZP_1NUjKQI/AAAAAAAABbE/-U-xVaLrQcE/s1600/120111094816367298_vikPaintsoft!.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NdCJltOhbHI/UZP_1NUjKQI/AAAAAAAABbE/-U-xVaLrQcE/s320/120111094816367298_vikPaintsoft!.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made the first pic a little softer and dreamier and played with the warmth</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O4-qd_fLGLg/UZP_1ESQnyI/AAAAAAAABbI/coYuXEQ8YFM/s1600/120111094816367298_vikPaintANIME.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-O4-qd_fLGLg/UZP_1ESQnyI/AAAAAAAABbI/coYuXEQ8YFM/s320/120111094816367298_vikPaintANIME.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The second one I just made into a half-drawing</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought it turned out pretty cool</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(He'd make a gorgeous animé character)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sYTjENP2I7M/UZQAbk7QNRI/AAAAAAAABbY/YRwpgaCicZI/s1600/vik_honey_animated.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sYTjENP2I7M/UZQAbk7QNRI/AAAAAAAABbY/YRwpgaCicZI/s320/vik_honey_animated.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In this one (pausing for drool)..I did the half-drawing thing again</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-quumldpB4cY/UZQAbuKWOiI/AAAAAAAABbU/yOrVpFcfTWo/s1600/vik_honey_drawn!.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-quumldpB4cY/UZQAbuKWOiI/AAAAAAAABbU/yOrVpFcfTWo/s320/vik_honey_drawn!.jpg" width="243" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And on this one I turned it all the way to a black and white drawing</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought it turned out really really cool. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tomorrow I have an interview! Wish me luck!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I read the novel about two months ago and have been unable to find the movie for download, but you can stream it on youtube in surprisingly good quality.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PrvuAng3k74/UZFMcbV5qAI/AAAAAAAABZc/m6KcSd54AJ0/s1600/the+great+gatsby.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PrvuAng3k74/UZFMcbV5qAI/AAAAAAAABZc/m6KcSd54AJ0/s320/the+great+gatsby.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
<br />
Everyone seems to praise the 1974 version with Robert Redford, but I think this version was a very close adaptation of the book, and Toby Stephens as Jay Gatsby is to die for! He was made for the part!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MJ17sIcXnJ8/UZFMqlJ1DuI/AAAAAAAABZk/bqu3BEP0frg/s1600/Toby-Stephens-as-Jay-Gatsby-in-The-Great-Gatsby-2000.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MJ17sIcXnJ8/UZFMqlJ1DuI/AAAAAAAABZk/bqu3BEP0frg/s320/Toby-Stephens-as-Jay-Gatsby-in-The-Great-Gatsby-2000.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Toby Stephens as Jay Gatsby</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>"Hello, old sport"</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Mira Sorvino plays Gatsby's old sweetheart Daisy, and I must admit I think she does a good job, I was surprised that she was that good an actress. She's always seemed kind of tough to me, but here she plays dainty little Daisy very convincingly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N71EUNgmS-c/UZFNKI33_SI/AAAAAAAABZs/UlZLbSu0JHk/s1600/main.original.466x530.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N71EUNgmS-c/UZFNKI33_SI/AAAAAAAABZs/UlZLbSu0JHk/s320/main.original.466x530.jpg" width="125" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Mira Sorvino as Daisy</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
What really surprised me though, was that Paul Rudd was cast as Nick Carraway, the narrator of the book (and movie) and everything is seen through his eyes. I've only ever seen him as this dorky, dopey guy, so it was both surprising and refreshing to see him as a more sober character.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9rieCOyrv8g/UZFORBOWBYI/AAAAAAAABZ4/qpD05nFELCc/s1600/Toby+11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9rieCOyrv8g/UZFORBOWBYI/AAAAAAAABZ4/qpD05nFELCc/s320/Toby+11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BaF8u1dik1c/UZFOWdMEOfI/AAAAAAAABaA/i6T6tfTq2_4/s1600/10083092_gal.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BaF8u1dik1c/UZFOWdMEOfI/AAAAAAAABaA/i6T6tfTq2_4/s320/10083092_gal.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This movie has great actors and costume and it follows the book perfectly. The only thing I could have wished for was that the glitz and glam of Gatsby's parties were not as extravagant as they are described in the book. There were a lot of daytime party scenes that should be in the night. And also the score, the sort of film noir, old detectives-story music wasn't really appropriate if you ask me. I'dve gone for more violins than trumpets.<br />
<br />
But Toby was brilliant in it though. It's amazing how he can project the full range of his emotional state in just a couple of glances. And he was as young and gorgeous as ever in this movie. To think I was only 16 back then...<br />

<br />
In one scene Gatsby (Toby) says "In her heart she never loved anyone except me." And I was thinking "How could anyone ever love anyone except you?" Hahahah, I'm such a sucker for Toby.<br />
HIS VOICE is just amazing, it sends all kinds of chills through my body. Of the good sort, hehe. I love his normal voice when he speaks with a british accent, but with an american accent his voice just turns so incredibly smooth and sexy. And when he says "old sport" it's not annoying at all, it's <b>so </b>endearing.the_travelling_angelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05847890152602764545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355341819101107001.post-49880216130467897742013-05-12T16:05:00.000-07:002013-05-12T16:05:14.884-07:00Vik SahayI kind of love this guy! <strike>I wish he was mine!</strike><br />

Been there 2 hours every time.<br />
Tomorrow I'm going with a friend in the middle of the night, we're calling it "<b>midnight-gymming</b>" or something like that, and we thought that since the gym is open 24/7 and we have never really been there past 7pm (or at least I haven't) that we'd do something different and check the place out in the middle of the night.<br />
<br />
Anyways, I downloaded Paint.net because I wanted to modify a picture, and now I can't even remember which picture it was, but for two hours I've been keeping myself busy beautifying or playing with some pictures. It started out with me wanting a pic for a song on my iPod and I just sort of saved this picture of Far East Movement and made it better, haha. I thought it turned out quite luxe actually!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>So first I played with Far East Movement</b></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VLjxfb_90wE/UYwh5FPS56I/AAAAAAAABWY/En6bAGZV07s/s1600/far-east-moviment-2012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="172" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VLjxfb_90wE/UYwh5FPS56I/AAAAAAAABWY/En6bAGZV07s/s320/far-east-moviment-2012.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y8pRJupfP_U/UYwh8EPfcMI/AAAAAAAABWg/odYqIDbXPa0/s1600/far-east-moviment-2012+FLOSSY+ByAngel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="172" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-y8pRJupfP_U/UYwh8EPfcMI/AAAAAAAABWg/odYqIDbXPa0/s320/far-east-moviment-2012+FLOSSY+ByAngel.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Doesn't the modified pic just look so much more luxurious?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I LOVE this song btw! "I'm flossy, yeah!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>And then I played with myself: (lol)</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8QMOnjIMlW0/UYwja4NItHI/AAAAAAAABWs/c0bajP8IfeU/s1600/P1010473.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8QMOnjIMlW0/UYwja4NItHI/AAAAAAAABWs/c0bajP8IfeU/s320/P1010473.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l36eMUoPRYU/UYwjfXWvW-I/AAAAAAAABW0/ySknKMU19jA/s1600/Angel+paint1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l36eMUoPRYU/UYwjfXWvW-I/AAAAAAAABW0/ySknKMU19jA/s320/Angel+paint1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I call this one Angel-lights)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O2Q1q3FRXno/UYwkMuopX1I/AAAAAAAABW8/6AT-LZ0lBu4/s1600/P1010495.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O2Q1q3FRXno/UYwkMuopX1I/AAAAAAAABW8/6AT-LZ0lBu4/s320/P1010495.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-haIFGILaCcQ/UYwkPga0wKI/AAAAAAAABXE/r5GFuIgIS6M/s1600/Angel_grit_caramelrainbow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-haIFGILaCcQ/UYwkPga0wKI/AAAAAAAABXE/r5GFuIgIS6M/s320/Angel_grit_caramelrainbow.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I call this one Angel_grit_candyrainbow)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I look a little strange in this pic though, don't know why I chose this one<br />I don't look like myself :P</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>And I also played with</b> <b>Kev Nish</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(I'd like to play with him for real haha..)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yE7n4SE_HKQ/UYwlTbeQm2I/AAAAAAAABXc/GYZpb0KI4Zw/s1600/tumblr_lzdezlPUje1r5th58o1_1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yE7n4SE_HKQ/UYwlTbeQm2I/AAAAAAAABXc/GYZpb0KI4Zw/s320/tumblr_lzdezlPUje1r5th58o1_1280.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dB18Iz65098/UYwk_pOMJwI/AAAAAAAABXM/qdMj6rTbtnQ/s1600/Kev+Nish+by+Angel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dB18Iz65098/UYwk_pOMJwI/AAAAAAAABXM/qdMj6rTbtnQ/s320/Kev+Nish+by+Angel.jpg" width="218" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ql4eTxAzAYQ/UYwk_mePNCI/AAAAAAAABXQ/v0hYNlB5RQc/s1600/Kev+Nish_girly_by+Angel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ql4eTxAzAYQ/UYwk_mePNCI/AAAAAAAABXQ/v0hYNlB5RQc/s320/Kev+Nish_girly_by+Angel.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Basically I just wanted to rotate the picture to make it look better on my screen so you don't have to turn your head to the side when looking at it, and then I ended up doing a little more than that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I guess this is just one of those strange things I do when I'm bored :P<br />
<br />
Today though, I've strangely had <b>so</b> much energy. (Even though I've had like no energy whatsoever for several months) I've danced twice, went to the gym and worked out for 2 hours, cleaned my apartment, fixed my hair, waxed, picked my brows, shopped for groceries and did these pics. The only thing I did today that hasn't been active was reading.<br />
<br />
Let's see if I make any more of these picture improvements in the future, when I'm bored...the_travelling_angelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05847890152602764545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355341819101107001.post-30204417577601927592013-05-06T10:43:00.001-07:002013-05-06T11:08:54.198-07:00Am I too old?Sometimes I wonder if I'm too old to realize my dream...<br />
But whether or not I am, I still have to have a "real" education, because finding a job is just too hard these days without going to Uni.<br />
<br />
I dream about living in Korea. Exploring Seoul every day, having lots of friends and living a wonderful life there (and work as an English teacher). Korea just seems like the greatest place on earth and I can't wait to go back...<br />
<br />
But I'm also impatient. I want to go back NOW and start living NOW. I don't want to wait 4 - 5 years to start living my life!(Which is the length of the education) I don't know, I just feel like I belong there and I want that life so much! But my problem is that I'll be old by the time I get there. I want to go there and live like I'm in my early 20's (or at least mid-20s') But the problem is I'll be in my mid 30's. That's really frickin old!!<br />
<br />
I'm 29 already. I don't even know if I've gotten in to the school yet. I don't want to be too old to date and have a love-life. I'm a woman after all, I want love too, not just friends. And by then I'll want someone my age, but the trouble is everyone will be taken!<br />
<br />
*sigh*<br />
I want to live in Korea. It's my dream, I want it more than anything. Or rather, I want it equally as much as I want love. Ottoke?<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
I couldn't remember if I had seen it or not, but as I was halfway through the movie I realized that I had indeed seen it, but it must have been back in 2000 because it wasn't recently, I can tell you that. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KzqzVSiy9pQ/UWit_IoVLjI/AAAAAAAABRw/tCa9o9EVjCM/s1600/space_cowboys.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KzqzVSiy9pQ/UWit_IoVLjI/AAAAAAAABRw/tCa9o9EVjCM/s320/space_cowboys.jpg" width="232" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's for some reason, the french title (I thought it was the prettiest)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here is the more modern action-edition:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3cSJg1CXVHo/UWiuQK-HVNI/AAAAAAAABR4/lom5bIBO5hg/s1600/11169767_det.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3cSJg1CXVHo/UWiuQK-HVNI/AAAAAAAABR4/lom5bIBO5hg/s1600/11169767_det.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As I had read up on what character Toby plays in this one, I was ready to not see a lot of him. Still, I think they could have made that wierd blue screen, well, <b>not blue</b>, we get that it was the past anyway, without taking away any colors, or adding odd blue color. In this movie he plays "young Frank" who gets cheated out of going to space in 1958 and he and his team is replaced by a monkey. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z0n79NyxbpI/UWivhUB-mnI/AAAAAAAABSQ/nHXQoTn05Gc/s1600/tmb_314_480.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-z0n79NyxbpI/UWivhUB-mnI/AAAAAAAABSQ/nHXQoTn05Gc/s320/tmb_314_480.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
young Frank and young Hawk fight</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qH3WPhU2hUM/UWivgq4cE9I/AAAAAAAABSE/Mvra9TWwVzE/s1600/Space-Cowboys-2000-Eli-Craig-Toby-Stephens-pic-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="140" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qH3WPhU2hUM/UWivgq4cE9I/AAAAAAAABSE/Mvra9TWwVzE/s320/Space-Cowboys-2000-Eli-Craig-Toby-Stephens-pic-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hawk and Frank get questioned by the boss</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

After the team is replaced by a monkey we fast forward 40 years and Frank is now played by Clint Eastwood. NASA needs Frank's help capture an old sovjet communications satellite before it falls out of orbit, and Frank is the only one old enough to understand the outdated technology, since he is the one who designed the Skylab guidence system from which the Sovjet satellite system has been copied. He agrees to help on one condition, if he and his team get to go to space to capture the satellite themselves. </div>

Well, in the library I took a look around and saw the dvd's. I must not have been in a library in a long time because I had no idea one can lend dvd's for free! :D<br />
<br />
As my eyes ran over the movies some familiar name caught my eye. Fish Tank. I was like 'wait a minute, Fish Tank, who's in it?' and then I remembered 'Michael Fassbender!' and I immediately picked it up. It has great reviews so I thought; why not make it my Thursday movie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8RRuzy_4md8/UWdAz4LlLkI/AAAAAAAABO0/eQNV9dvTsdM/s1600/FishTank1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8RRuzy_4md8/UWdAz4LlLkI/AAAAAAAABO0/eQNV9dvTsdM/s320/FishTank1.jpg" width="221" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>I basically went from a novel that left me feeling sad to a movie that left me feeling sad. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Fish Tank is about a girl who has more enemies than friends. Her mother is a real bitch to her, her little sister is equally ill behaved as she is. Mia is a 15 year old girl who loves to dance, she lives in "the hood" as I'd call it and doesn't have much in way of love, money or comfort in her life.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
One day when she's in the kitchen her mother's new boyfriend comes down half naked (that made me drool quite a bit) and compliments her on her dancing. She seems kind of wierded out about this guy at first, who is all nice, sweet, caring and fun but she soon starts to be intrigued with him (and with his natural charm, who could blame her). </div>

This guy is about the only one in her life that treats her nice and doesn't want anything from her. Right after having had sex with Mia, Connor realizes that that was probably pretty stupid of him. He says that they'll talk about about it the next day, but when Mia wakes up he's taken his things and left. Mia chases after him and somehow finds out where he lives. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It comes to such a shock to Mia when she finds out that he's actually married and has a little daughter that she has a sort of panic attack and kidnaps his daughter when no one is looking.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After almost causing the child to drown, she returns the child to her home and walks back home.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In <b>THAT </b>scene, when he sees her walking on the road and chases her down and strikes her, I am SO fucking angry at him and at <b>her </b>for not saying what I would have said:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
"You fucking bastard! You LIAR, how DARE you come in to my life and my mother's life under the pretences of being all good and nice and seduce both me and my mum! You took my virginity you fucking asshole! I LOVED you! I TRUSTED you! You were the only person who ever treated me good in my entire life, you shit head! How DARE you? How could you do this to me? To US? How can you live with yourself?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But she didn't say that. She didn't say anything. But later on when she went over to the horse-boy and found out the horse was dead, she finally cried. I kept wondering throughout at how she could go through all of that and not cry, even once. But then she did. The horse being dead was the final straw. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the end I guess she just had to get over it somehow. She's moving to Wales with the horse-boy and we see that at least her relationship with her sister, (whom she is hugging good-bye in the picture) and her mum improves. I love the scene when they dance together to Nas' "Life Is A Bitch" (and then you die).</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br /></div>
Conclusions: This was a great movie in that it set you up to think that this beautiful, cheerful, considerate man was going to be the turning point in their lives, and then he turns out just to be another dissapoinment. That is also the most horrible thing about it. It is a bad thing to just live your life in quiet misery, knowing what a shitty life you have and can depend on it remaining that way. It is a worse thing still to have your hopes up for the future, to get a glimpse of the way things might have been and then to have it all stolen from you at the drop of a hat. Just when you are at your most vulnerable. Connor hurt the whole family, not just Mia, but also her mother who was heartbroken when he left, and her little sister who could've looked up to him as a father figure. It left me feeling very sad for Mia (though with the prospect of her "getting over it") and I can't help but feel like that song is really the theme for not only this movie but life in general "<b>Life is a bitch, and then you die.</b>"<br />
<br />
That being said, it WAS a great movie. It was beautifully filmed, the actors were <b>amazing </b>and you get really caught up in this girl's life and sucked in by the chemistry between Katie Jarvis and Michael Fassbender.the_travelling_angelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05847890152602764545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1355341819101107001.post-58952396611145181772013-04-06T14:53:00.000-07:002013-04-06T15:05:13.709-07:00The Camomile LawnToday I watched the first two episodes of The Camomile Lawn, a British TV adaptation from 1992 of a novel with the same name by Mary Wesley. Curiously the novel was published the same year that I was born, in 1984.<br />

The story starts in 1939, just before World War II broke out. As it says in wikipedia the story is <span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">about the lives of Richard and Helena Cuthbertson and their five nieces and nephews</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">; Calypso, Walter, Polly, Oliver and Sophy.</span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;"> As I am watching this almost exclusively because of Toby Stephens I will not keep a detailed record of the events of the story, but only write about the parts that interest me, as I usually do ^_~</span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">In the beginning there is a lot of talking about the impending war, one cannot escape the tenseness of that fact, yet this hardly seems to affect the younger generation, who go about in their frivilous ways on their vacation and talk proudly how they are going to join the marines and such. </span><span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">Oliver arrives in town, returned from the Spanish Civil War and has a crush on Calypso.</span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;"> Toby (Stephens) shocked me when one of the first things he says is </span><b style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">"May I fuck you? Now, at once." </b><span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">It shocked me because all the roles I've seen him in have been very romantic (so far) and so it never struck me as something he would say. It makes me wonder what other treats I can expect from him... </span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.1875px;">A scene I thought was hillarious was when they had done The Terror Run and Oliver and Calypso stand there alone catching their breaths in the middle of the night and he holds her close to him and they go:</span><br />

This series is better than I expected. It's sometimes hillarious, sometimes confusing, sometimes a little sad (but never <i>really</i> sad) and very naked. Very, very naked. If you want to see lots of naked women, by all means watch this one. I'm looking forward to watching the remaining 3 episodes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Will Calypso leave her emotionless marriage? Will Oliver realise he is a fool for loving this heartless woman? I think he should just move on and find someone who is worthy of his passion and devotion. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We'll see...</div>

So, this evening I could finally watch the filmatization of it from 1996 starring Toby Stephens <3 <3 <3 and Tara Fitzgerald with Rupert Graves as Mr Huntingdon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zBpML1kKiNs/UVytjplFvWI/AAAAAAAABME/UK_3ijYJ2KE/s1600/tenant-wildfell-hall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zBpML1kKiNs/UVytjplFvWI/AAAAAAAABME/UK_3ijYJ2KE/s320/tenant-wildfell-hall.jpg" width="230" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the person unfamiliar with the story it is about a young girl, Helen, who falls head over heels for a man who we today would call a "playa" (or player, as it is correctly written). He is a man of fashion, too fond of drinking and gambling and has no concept of what a marriage is really about. Helen is but a girl when she marries him, and despite seeing hints of what is to come marries Mr Huntingdon far too soon and believes whatever vices he has, she can make him change. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
She soon learns that this is not the case, however when she's faced with his verbal abuse, his cheating, gambling and excessive drinking. He humiliates her in every possible way, but what can she do, she's stuck with him. </div>

When Huntingdon starts to take an interest towards their son however, determined that he'll not be as cold as his mother, and involves little Arthur in his depravity, then Helen starts to think again. She realizes that if she is to spare her beloved son the misfortune of ending up like his father, she must leave him and take her son with her. She writes to her astranged brother and asks that he help hide her in their old childhood house, Wildfell Hall.</div>

She moves into Wildfell Hall, dressed as a widow, pretending she doesn't know her brother who is her landlord and hopes to live a quiet life, supporting herself and her son as a painter. The neighborhood becomes interested in this mysterious, cold, haughty woman who has decided opinions on alcohol and child rearing. Mr Gilbert Markham then takes an interest to her.</div>

When Helen, who then calls herself by her mother's maiden name (Mrs) Graham, she over time starts to trust Gilbert and feels she needs to explain her situation to him, before he falls even more for her. <br /></div>
It was a very realistic and rather accurate filmatization of the novel, except for a couple of things in the end. It would have been <b>perfect </b>had a scene that I thought beautiful in the book appeared where she picks a flower to give to Mr. Markham and says <i>"This rose is not so fragrant as a summer flower, but it has stood through hardships none of <b>them</b> could bear: the cold rain of winter has sufficed to nourish it, or its faint sun to warm it; the bleak winds have not blanched it, or broken its stem, and the keen frost has not blighted it. Look Gilbert, it is still as fresh and blooming as a flower can be, with the cold snow even now on its petals. - Will you have it?"</i><br />
Of course the rose, enduring hardships is a symbol of her heart, that is maybe not as beautiful as the other flowers in the summer, but it is strong and still stands, and she is offering it to him.<br />

<br />
Fans of Toby Stephens will not be disappointed, he is so beautiful and young and it is <b>him</b>. He has an undeniable presence and it delights me to see him in every scene as the good and passionate Mr Gilbert Markham. And there is only one actor in the world who can deliver a fairly simple line with that kind of passion.<br />

<b>The Tenant of Wildfell Hall book</b>:<br />
*Warning! Spoiler!!*<br />
I think Wildfell Hall has a lot of things for one to think about. The advice is basically not to undergo marriage unwisely or too much in a hurry, or to really know who you are marrying. It touches on subjects like adultery, alcoholism, and explores men's relationships to women and women to men. It moved me because it is basically a story about a woman freeing herself from a destructive relationship and doing whatever is in her power to save her son, even if it goes against the norm and socially accepted behaviour. (Leaving one's husband wasn't heard of back then, or it was deeply shameful.) Ultimately she does it for her son, so that he won't grow up to be like his father who ruined himself and ultimately died because of his alcoholism. It is about what we do to save the ones we love, and a bit of feminism, as some discussions are about how boys are raised as opposed to how girls are raised and wether or not they should be shielded and exposed equally. And lastly, it is about second chances. She is lucky enough that she had a second chance at happiness with Mr Markham, who was a man worthy of her, as she was a woman worthy of his love.<br />

Only, the coolest lawfirm on earth! (Or off earth as it were...)<br />
<br />
This easter I've watched 4 movies and the first was Prometheus (and let me tell you that all the other movies paled in comparison to this one). SOMEHOW it escaped me that Michael Fassbender was not only one of the lead stars in the film but also <b>on</b> <b>the cover!! </b>(I don't know how I missed THAT?!) And so, when I turned on the blu ray disc and the first face I see is Michael Fassbender's I jump and scream like a maniac, much to my father's confusion.<br />
<br />
Since Jane Eyre I've started to notice how beautiful he is and not only is he beautiful but SO talented!<br />
And there's nothing that attracts me more than beautiful, talented men...<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron</i></div>
<br />
Anyways, about the movie:<br />
Prometheus is a spaceship where a group of scientists (and one robot) set out to a planet where they are to search for answers about where we came from and what/who made us and why. But since this is a film by Ridley Scott one can only assume that something goes awfully awry...<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
To not spoil too much Fassbender plays David, a gorgeous, human-like robot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jrlbf_GHsJg/UVtXxj4a20I/AAAAAAAABKM/3olTidMq1ao/s1600/prometheus-1-s51.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Jrlbf_GHsJg/UVtXxj4a20I/AAAAAAAABKM/3olTidMq1ao/s320/prometheus-1-s51.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The entire time I was amazed at how hot he looked in that blue space-suit, I can't even imagine the perfection if he should actually take his clothes off (but I guess we'll come to that kind of a movie sooner or later.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
doing something sinister</div>
<br />
He is <b>infinitely</b> <b>cute</b> in this movie as a robot and at the same time he's maddeningly sinister. Yet one understands that he is just following instructions, he is not capable of being evil himself.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fassbender with Noomi Rapace, who is a Swedish actress.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G9V-j2skeEc/UVtS9BLqr7I/AAAAAAAABJs/hYLnHEZqrRc/s1600/Shaw_David1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="279" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G9V-j2skeEc/UVtS9BLqr7I/AAAAAAAABJs/hYLnHEZqrRc/s320/Shaw_David1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I'm feeling a bit of Swede-pride atm, because she rocked this part! There is definitely a want of Swedish actresses in major films today. The only really famous swedish actress who is relatively active is Lena Olin. (And Pernilla August also makes one or other appearance)<br />
I think Noomi could really become a big star, she has a huge advantage that she's been starred in this movie. And let me just say that the scene where she gets an "operation" in the med-pod (you guys who have seen it know what I mean!) that is one of the most nerve-wrecking scenes of all time!! And she played it to perfection.<br />
<br />
Anyhow, enough of praise of Fassbender and Rapace.<br />
<b>Guy Pearce</b> was in it and I didn't even notice!! Now that's good acting, hahahah!<br />
Or maybe it was because he looked a little something like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0jKYABvKvmA/UVtXgnVXhEI/AAAAAAAABKE/PE6o1_Px6Jg/s1600/in+character+with+guy+pearce.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0jKYABvKvmA/UVtXgnVXhEI/AAAAAAAABKE/PE6o1_Px6Jg/s320/in+character+with+guy+pearce.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
LOL</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Call me shallow, but I prefer him looking like this:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t25f6RSnPkM/UVtXYFMxsVI/AAAAAAAABJ8/JKBxHGst3vQ/s1600/guy-pearce.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t25f6RSnPkM/UVtXYFMxsVI/AAAAAAAABJ8/JKBxHGst3vQ/s320/guy-pearce.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
^_~</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyway, Prometheus was a <u style="font-weight: bold;">great</u> movie! If you don't like great movies that are suspenseful, beautiful and captivate you from the moment you start watching till the credits roll and that have amazingly talented actors that makes the movie just <b>that</b> much better, don't watch it! LOL </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>No, I changed my mind, watch it anyway!</b></div>

<span lang="en-US">I’ve set out on a
quest; I shall see every movie and tv series that Toby Stephens has
ever been in and my Sunday movie was “Orlando” based on Virginia
Woolf’s novel Orlando: A Biography. <br />Not having read the book
beforehand I can’t say whether or not the movie follows the spirit
of the book, or if they changed too much. But I can give my
impressions on what I thought of the movie at least. </span>

as a Lord Orlando (an androgynous man) played by Tilda Swinton, he is

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span lang="en-US">I’m not going to
tell the whole story, but I have to point out a very interesting
part of the movie.<br /><b>Year:</b> <b>1850</b><br />It is when she has been visited
by the lawyers and she’s running out in a field, it’s foggy and
wet and she falls to the ground. A man on a horse comes riding; the
horse is frightened by her and rears, causing the man to fall to the
ground. He then declares he’s sprained his ankle. <br />Sound
familiar?<br />Well, the scene is just how Jane Eyre met Mr. Rochester.
If this scene is indeed in the novel, I think Virginia Woolf must
have been a Charlotte Brontë fan, and that little scene was an
homage to the greatest novel of that time, Jane Eyre. If not, the
director was the fan. ^^ </span>

So I get her wall-updates and posts.<br />
I mostly look, but sometimes comment.<br />
<br />
Yesterday's post was about how upset Ms Rice was about people using the name of her most beloved character <b>Lestat</b> and among other things claiming to be him on facebook, used Lestat as a bandname, as a name for a café, in chatrooms and fan fiction. Ms Rice was displeased about people calling themselves Lestat online and doing something unpleasant and then said she felt deeply discouraged by it.<br />
<br />
While I understand that Lestat is very dear to her, (and an author's character is almost like their baby, so who wants their baby's name defiled?) and she is upset that people are misusing his name to do or say bad things, I still can't fully agree.<br />
I will give you my main argument why, last.<br />
<br />
But my first is: the internet; in chatrooms and on facebook and social networks of the likes. There is no way you can control this. It is just a fact that people can call themselves whatever they want online and since much more serious crimes are being committed on the internet every day, the usage of character-names are not prioritized.<br />
<br />
<u>My main argument is:</u><b> the usage of the character Lestat in fan fiction.</b> As I am a writer myself of the odd fan fiction story and most of the people I use are celebrities or fictional characters from TV series/movies or novels I was a bit upset by this. For example, one of my favorite hobbies is reading and writing Harry Potter fan fiction. All the Harry Potter books are out, and there will not be any more in the near future (or ever), but that doesn't mean I still don't want to read about exciting adventures they go through, or romantically pair up two unlikely characters into a very convincing and creative story.<br />
<br />
This statement that Ms Rice didn't want Lestat to be used in fan fiction <b>shocked </b>me, because had I used the internet when I was 15-16 I would have most definitely posted the stories I had written about Lestat (but because of lack of internet they remained unpublished to the public eye).<br />
Lestat was the reason I started to write when I was a teenager. This character inspired me to develop my creativity and my writing skills. Plus it gave me great personal pleasure to write (about him) and discover that I was pretty good, and this probably had never happened had I not started reading fan fiction about Lestat and other fictional characters from famous books.<br />
<br />
<b>If I were in her shoes:</b><br />
If I was a successful author, I would not discourage my fans (or any one else for that matter) to write about my favorite and most beloved character. Sure, maybe I wouldn't be happy about hearing that someone had either misinterpreted my characters or made them into ludicrous, malicious or hateful characters, but I would still be honored that they cared enough about my character to use it in a fan fic. And if <b>THAT</b> is what makes people develop their writing skills, and fuells their creativity (and at length encourages people to become interested in the literary world, then so be it.)<br />
<br />
But that is just <b>my</b> opinion. I think I am right. Hahahah! No, but I understand that Rice wants to protect her character from over-use and keep Lestat's name "clean" so to speak, but once you have a character published out there, there is only so much you can do to keep people from using or misusing that character's name. And I agree with Ms Rice completely that it <i>is</i><b> </b>such a shame that people should use Lestat's name and behave badly, whether on the internet or in real life, but again, people will be idiots, no matter what they call themselves. And there's not much we can do about people's idiocy, right?<br />
<br />
Concerning café's and rockbands I fully agree with Ms Rice, they should ask her permission first as they make<b> money</b> from the name, and also fan fiction that is for sale (not a lot of that goes on, but in the odd case) they should ask for permission from Anne Rice or the publishers, legally.<br />
<br />
<b>Who is to say that every fan fiction is bad and "tarnishes" the name of the original character?</b><br />
A counter-argument someone could have (and that I saw on facebook) is "lack of creativity" or "it's better to make your own characters" and write stories about them. Well, I'm sure for the people who are serious about writing they probably do this <b>as well</b> as writing fan fiction (I know I do). And I think using an already made up character for your story is <b>not </b>any less creative<b>,</b> or makes the story any less good, just because it's not published or original. I have read some pretty detailed and awesome fan fictions in my life and I think some of the fan fiction writers out there even excel some of the published ones.<br />
Think about it, isn't it better to let someone use "your" character's name and let them take pleasure in reading fan fiction or writing fan fiction to help them start out their creative path, rather than to stifle their creativity by prohibiting them to use <b>their </b>most beloved character in a novel?<br />
<br />
When it comes right down to it I think it's all about "<b>mine and yours</b>". I think Buddah was right about that we have to let go of the thought that everything belongs to us, because nothing really does in this world, not even your own thoughts. You may create a character, but does that make him <b>yours</b>? And how far are we willing to go to maintain that this character, that this figment of our imagination is used by others? And why can't we let them? Maybe we need to. Maybe to grow as people we must learn to share. As we did when we were toddlers. A toy may have been given to you and you may call it yours. But when it's out there in the world, and you are not using it, does it still belong to you? And why can't you let someone else play with your toy every once in a while and let them enjoy it on their terms?<br />
<br />
Okay, this became considerably more philosophical than I intended it to be.<br />
But my point is; there is no point. Only opinions.<br />
<br />
<i>I dedicate this post to Anne Rice, who, with her fantastic character Lestat de Lioncourt brought beauty, adventure, sensuality and reading in English into my world! I love her dearly, she helped shape me with her literary works and is one of my top female rolemodels. </i><br />

"How stands your disposition to be married?"<br />
Juliet, clever as she is replies "It is an honor that I dream not of."<br />
<br />
Right now is not the time for boys for me. I can pine away for celebrities I may not ever even meet in real life, and that is all fine, but I swore that this year I would take to myself. I shall not let this year be wasted on fruitless thoughts on any one be he worthy or not.<br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
“I'll look to like, if looking liking

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
But no more deep will I endart

<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
Than your consent gives strength to
make it fly.”</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0in;">
</div>
<br />
If Toby Stephens happens to tap on my door and profess his undying love to me, fine, I shall break my pact, but until that happens I will concentrate on making a life out of this pitiful existence. At least for a year. Because, the next time I fall for someone, I want it to be right.<br />
<br />
I've had enough of playing around, of un-even love, of shallow fancy and going against my inner voice and better knowledge. Next time, I'll do it right and proper. Next time I'll fall forever.<br />
<br />
So I wish some of the aquaintances I have online would stop bothering me, but I do not have the heart to tell them. And it is equally rude to just ignore them.<br />
What to do? Ottoke? Doushio?<br />

I adore him, I think he is so charming, chooses such good movies and he's damn sexy to boot. If you're kind of big on Shakespeare, classic novels and interesting, sometimes very complex characters (the way I am) -his career is certainly fascinating. And I will follow his career with great interest.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>this is my desktop pic right now :P</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
You'd think it all began with Jane Eyre (2006) -and sure, it's true that's where I re-discovered him. But to be honest, it all <b>really</b> started when I was 12 years old and I saw him in the 1996 filmatization of <b>Twelfth Night</b>. Now, I was a strange kid. I listened to the Backstreet Boys, enjoyed Shakespearian prose and wrote my own poems at that age. And the first time I was ever sexually attracted to a man was when I saw Toby Stephens as Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0F2V_Vdm4hE/UUUT2q7GExI/AAAAAAAABG8/bkvR0s35TzQ/s1600/tumblr_m9mrplPPXe1rcodg3o1_500.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0F2V_Vdm4hE/UUUT2q7GExI/AAAAAAAABG8/bkvR0s35TzQ/s320/tumblr_m9mrplPPXe1rcodg3o1_500.gif" width="320" /></a></div>
<i>That first glance of him, lying there in a sofa, with his hand on his forehead, listening to a beautiful piece of music, made such an impression on me it stayed with me for years. Not to mension the scene when he takes a bath and is all wet and naked and sexy. LOL, you girls who have watched it know what I mean, right? (Sorry I couldn't find a picture of it when I googled, I'm very, <b>very </b>sorry)</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i><br /></i>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Imogen Stubbs as Viola/Cesario</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So imagine my surprise when I discovered, that the actor who played Mr. Rochester was the very same as one of my favorite characters of all time (Orsino) and I had an equal obsession with both!!<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cMkbLUi4hNE/UUUX-r4GI7I/AAAAAAAABHM/PSI55IbaTrM/s1600/rochester+-+jane.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cMkbLUi4hNE/UUUX-r4GI7I/AAAAAAAABHM/PSI55IbaTrM/s1600/rochester+-+jane.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
as Mr Rochester</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I think about it now, though Orsino and Rochester are widely different characters, what attracted me to them (besides they're being interpreted by Toby Stephens) was their passion. Their deep desire to love and be loved and also their darkness in that they are seemingly banned from this burning desire. And who can play these highly complex, beautiful characters better than Toby Stephens?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tMHF_1KWWBs/UUUbDGhqD9I/AAAAAAAABHU/nwTYH2ry2M0/s1600/Jane-Eyre-2006-miniseries-jane-eyre-1618364-1024-576.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tMHF_1KWWBs/UUUbDGhqD9I/AAAAAAAABHU/nwTYH2ry2M0/s320/Jane-Eyre-2006-miniseries-jane-eyre-1618364-1024-576.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>my favorite romantic hero of all time</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>(played by my favorite actor of all time)</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The thing about Toby is that he gets it. He totally gets it, he gets his characters, he doesn't just show up and is like "it is what it is". I saw an interview with him where he expressed his thoughts concerning this character and everything I thought Rochester was about, he mensioned, plus a little more that I hadn't really thought of. He's not just good looking and talented, he's also clever. A triple threat ^_~</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Like I said before, I will follow his career with interest. I've already seen some movies he's done, but I want to have seen everything, if he's my favorite actor after all, I have to have seen everything!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So far I've seen: <b>Twelfth Night, Onegin, Jane Eyre and Die Another Day </b>(and I was SUPER impressed that he spoke Korean, I listen to a lot of Korean music and watch a lot of Korean dramas and I can spot someone with a "bad" korean accent, but his was actually really good! Then again, I'm not Korean haha..)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

as Gustav Graves</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I thought I'd start from the beginning and "work my way up". Next on my list is the movie <b>Orlando</b>, it seems fairly strange, and I've never read anything by Virginia Woolf so that will be a mystery. And then I'm really excited to see miniseries <b>The Camomile Lawn</b> (from 1992) and a movie I've been <b>dying </b>to see lately is <b>The Tenant of Wildfell Hall</b>! I just have to finish the book and then I'll watch the movie immediately! I can't wait to see young Toby in 1840's fashions!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He looks a little something like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<h3>
Tom Welling, (35) Where I loved him: Smallville</h3>
I've started watching Smallville (last season) during weekdays and though I haven't seen all the other seasons I'm really enjoying it. When Smallville started out on TV I was, like Clark, a teenager. And back then I wasn't so attracted to him. But now, though he looks pretty much the same, I can't help but to feel in awe of his super close-ups and the tender look in his beautiful eyes, can it be the maturity? Or just that I changed tastes since high school? Whatever the case, this sweetheart is a true son of Krypton and never have I been so tempted to be abducted by an alien.<br />

Gerard Butler, (43) Where I loved him: Phantom of the Opera, Tomb Raider, Dracula 2000 and many other movies.</h3>
Gerard Butler I discovered when I was a teenager, from the moment I saw him as Dracula in Dracula 2000, I knew he was special (despite that bad movie) and was incredibly attracted to his sensuality and charm. When he starred as the phantom in The Phantom Of The Opera I just fell even harder and was impressed by his amazing talents. <br />

perfect, but for completely different reasons than Michael Fassbender. 1. He
was the first actor to actually nail this beloved character. 2. His Rochester
was more playful and passionate than the ones before him. 3. He was infinitely
convincing because (as in the book) he is incredibly charming in one moment and
the next he is irritated and cross. 4. When he played Mr. Rochester, he was
actually Mr. Rochester’s age. (Rochester is described to be in his mid-to late
30’s, and Stephens was 36, so that was perfect.) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
